It seems only fitting with all the news coming out of Corktown these days that I share Shannon and Jimmy’s Corktown Detroit engagement session. With the heat we’ve been having, it’s hard to imagine a time where we walked around comfortably in long sleeves. But the end of April this year was honestly the perfect time for sessions.
When I met Shannon in January, I knew that I would love working with her — so sweet and easy going. Super organized. Naturally, I was excited to meet Jimmy at our session. He didn’t disappoint — we laughed a lot this session, which makes for the best kind of session.
Corktown holds a special place in their hearts as their former home. They definitely knew the area better than me and these will probably be some of my last images with Michigan Central Station in its old rundown state. I’m glad the old building will have a new life but there was something inherently romantic about putting a young, in-love couple in front of an old dilapidated building.
I’m excited for their November wedding, less than 5 months away now! November weddings are some of my favorite and theirs is my only one this year.
